ABU DHABI // Two new ministers have been appointed in a Cabinet reshuffle.
Hussain Al Hammadi was appointed Minister of Education last night, and Sultan Al Badi is the new Minister of Justice.
The President, Sheikh Khalifa, wished success to the new ministers and expressed his thanks to departing education minister Humaid Al Qattami, and justice minister Dr Hadef Al Dhaheri, for their service to the country, state news agency Wam reported.
Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, tweeted that the new ministers were “two accomplished youths. I welcome them aboard and wish them all the best in their duties”.
Mr Al Hammadi, a father of five, was born in 1966, educated in the US at Embry-Riddle University and has held several positions in the field of education.
He was chairman of the board of trustees of the Institute of Applied Technology and at the Abu Dhabi Centre for Technical and Vocational Education and Training, and a board member at the National Transport Authority and at Khalifa University.
Mr Al Badi was born in 1963, holds a bachelor of law degree from UAE University and served as undersecretary at the Abu Dhabi Judicial Department. He is credited with developing the department’s technical and administrative affairs.
Mr Al Badi also served as head of Al Ain Public Prosecution, undersecretary at the Ministry of Justice, and was also given the post of chief of Sharia judiciary in Abu Dhabi.
