Forty Emirati families known for producing some of the world’s best dates will be supported by the Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation beginning with an exhibition at the Liwa Date Festival.
A foundation spokesman said it is part of its strategy to support Emirati families exhibiting cultural heritage.
The foundation will help the families – each known for its traditional brand of dates – by promoting the fruits through marketing programmes and with modernising the farms.
Through its various initiatives it will also help the families dispense their products at exhibitions in Global Village in Dubai, the Sharjah Expo and the Sheikh Zayed Heritage Festival in Al Wathba.
The businesses will be encouraged to increase production, maintain quality and diversify.
