ABU DHABI // Members of the Federal National Council will head to Bahrain next week to take part in a meeting of the Arab Parliament.
The meeting, which begins on Sunday, will be the third in the session and will be headed by Ahmed Al Jarwan, an FNC member from Sharjah.
Salim bin Huwaidan (Sharjah), a member of the Arab Parliament’s financial and economic committee, said he had been preparing for the session from Oman with the women’s committee.
He said other than general sessions and committee meetings, the Arab Parliament subcommittees will prepare for a number of forthcoming conferences, including one to support less-developed Arab countries, one on Arab youth and another on women.
The Arab Parliament will also hold a hearing session on Arab national security, which will include statements from the president of the ministerial council for the Arab League, the secretary general of the Arab League, and a public discussion.
Others taking part in the meetings are Mosabeh Al Kitbi, a Sharjah FNC member and a member of the legislative and law and human-rights committee in the Arab Parliament, and Dr Sheikh Al Erri, a UAQ FNC member and member of the social affairs and culture and women’s and youth committee in the Arab Parliament.
