ABU DHABI // Al Ain Zoo will put on a talon show each day at the Qasr Al Hosn Festival.

Zoo spokesman Rashed Al Saadi said its bird show would feature five eagles and five falcons, and focus on falconry, conservation and wildlife.

Visitors will be able to have their pictures taken with the birds between 4pm and 10pm.

A presentation on eagles will begin each day at 4.45pm, followed by the main event involving both species at 5.45pm and a talk on eagles at 7pm.

Mr Al Saadi said the demonstrations would highlight the creatures’ importance to Emirati heritage.

Ghanim Al Hajeri, director general of the Zoo and Aquarium Public Institution in Al Ain, said it was committed to raising awareness about environment and wildlife conservation.

“The zoo is part of various initiatives and activities that contribute to the preservation of the UAE’s rich natural heritage, and we are proud to be part of the Qasr Al Hosn Festival,” Mr Al Hajeri said.
