The Palestinian Business Council Dubai (PBC), in collaboration with the Emirates Red Crescent (ERC), has announced the launch of a fundraising campaign to support the Palestinian families affected by the war in the Gaza Strip last summer.

The “Relief and Shelter for Our People in Gaza” campaign aims to collect monetary donations to help Palestinian families who have lost their homes and those whose homes were partially damaged during the Israeli aggression.

The council seeks to provide makeshift homes and rehabilitate the partially-damaged houses for Palestinian families who take shelter at schools through the fundraising drive.

The council will channelise the aid through the Emirates Red Crescent, which will assign a national Palestinian company to recruit Palestinian manpower to build the makeshift houses.

Also a special event will take place on the 13th of February in Dubai in which famous Tunisian artist Lotfi Bouchnak and the Watan Palestinian Folk Dance Group will participate.

“We hope donations, which will be collected during the campaign, will help the affected families carry on with their normal lives, by providing them with homes, especially those who are living in tents or schools, as well as by rehabilitating houses affected by the aggression to help reunite families,” said Samir Ibrahim Abdulhadi, Chairman of the Palestinian Business Council, Abdulhadi also appreciated the ongoing support provided by the UAE to the Palestinian people.

“The assistance provided by the Emirates Red Crescent for the children of Gaza has contributed to strengthening the ties of brotherhood between the two fraternal nations,” he said.
