Forecasters expect humidity to increase on Thursday while winds could kick up dust clouds. Forecasters are also monitoring Cyclone Mekunu which is churning towards the southern Omani coast. The category one severe cyclonic storm is expected to make landfall as early as Friday close to Salalah. It could bring winds and some rain to parts of the UAE on Saturday but is not expected to directly impact the country. The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) on Wednesday urged people to look for its reports and said that it was monitoring the storm around the clock. According to the NCM, it will be cloudy and hazy in places across the country on Thursday. Humidity could reach as high as 85 per cent on the coast and 75 per cent in internal areas. Maximum temperatures could hit 44C while it could sink as low as 19C in the mountains.
