Temperatures are set to near 50°C in some parts of the UAE this weekend.

The weather will continue to be partly cloudy and hazy at times, with a slight possibility of rain, especially over eastern and southern areas, the National Centre of Meteorology and Seismology said.

Temperatures across the country will continue to be stiflingly hot, with highs of 49°C in internal areas, 40°C to 45°C along the coast and 30°C to 39°C in the mountains.

Southeasterly to northeasterly winds blowing between 14 to 24kph will blow up dust and sand over exposed areas. Sea conditions are expected to be moderate becoming rough at times in the Arabian Gulf and moderate in the Oman Sea.

Relative humidity will reach highs of 60 to 90 per cent along coastal areas and 55 to 80 per cent in internal areas, rising during the night and morning over some western coastal areas.

The lowest temperature recorded in the UAE on Thursday was 24.3°C at Al Heben mountains.
