The UAE is set for a hazy day on Wednesday, with some clouds appearing in the east of the country.

Cyclone Kyarr is expected to kick up waves in the Gulf of Oman, with wave heights reaching up to 2.1 metres until midnight on Thursday, the National Centre of Meteorology said.

Top temperatures could reach 38°C in Abu Dhabi and 39°C in Dubai on Wednesday.

The weather will become more humid in the west of the UAE by night and Thursday morning.

Winds may reach speeds of up to 42 kilometres an hour in mountainous regions.

In some parts of the country, particularly in coastal regions, humidity levels are expected to hit as high as 75 per cent, the weather bureau said.
