Man drowns in strong currents in Ras Al Khaimah creek

The man's body was located after a 45-minute search and was taken to hospital.

DUBAI // A 22-year-old Asian man drowned in Ras Al Khaimah creek on Friday. He was swimming with two other men when they got into difficulty because of the strong current. One of his friends was able to get out of the water while the other was rescued by a member of the public.

RAK sea rescue teams were sent to the location upon receiving a report. The drowned man’s body was located after a 45-minute search and was taken to hospital where it will be handed to his next of kin, reported Al Ittihad, the Arabic language sister paper of The National.
