ABU DHABI // The Environment Agency will release details about initiatives to tackle key environmental challenges to mark World Environment Day on Friday. The theme this year is ‘Seven Billion Dreams, One Planet, Consume with Care.’
Razan Khalifa Al Mubarak, EAD’s secretary general said the agency’s strategy was aligned with Abu Dhabi’s commitment to act locally, at a regional and international level on environmental issues.
“As the theme suggests, the responsibility of careful environmental stewardship lies not just with us and our partners in government, but with every citizen and resident ‘realising their dreams.’ We all need to ‘consume with care’ and contribute to a better environmental future,” Ms Al Mubarak said. Long-term strategies from every sector of society were required to make a difference, she said.
The theme touches on the need to for sustainable development while conserving vital resources and reducing the impact on the environment.
