Dubai warehouse fire destroys electrics but no one is injured

A spokesman said the warehouse, which stored electronic merchandise, was severely damaged.

DUBAI // An early morning fire in an industrial area in Dubai sent thick black smoke over the horizon, only a few kilometres from the Burj Khalifa.

A Dubai Civil Defence spokesman said that there were no fatalities or injuries and that the cause of the warehouse fire is still being investigated.

“The fire broke out at about 5.15am and the civil defence units were able to put it out in approximately an hour, despite it being a huge blaze,” he said.

According to reports, police at the scene stopped onlookers from shooting video of the fire.

The spokesman added that the warehouse, which stored electronic merchandise, was destroyed and that the fire affected two adjacent warehouses too.
