Abu Dhabi Municipality aims for 130 parks in UAE capital by 2017

As part of a plan to increase green spaces in the emirate, Abu Dhabi will have 130 parks and play areas by 2017.

Abu Dhabi Municipality anounced at its 34 Plantation Week event that by the first quarter of 2015 it will have implemented six projects to build 15 parks and playing fields.

At a press conference, a municipality spokesman said its plan will include Mohammed bin Zayed City, Khalifa City, Shakhbout City, Shamkha City and Al Adla City.

He said that there were currently 48 parks and 37 kids’ playgrounds in the emirate.
