SHARJAH // An employee has been fined Dh50,000 for sending an insulting WhatsApp message to his sponsor.
The man, from an Arab country, sent the message to his sponsor following a work-related row, Khorfakkan Criminal Court heard.
His sponsor then informed police, reported Aletihad, the Arabic-language sister newspaper of The National.
The defendant confessed to sending the message when questioned by the police and prosecutors.
