RAS AL KHAIMAH // Two Emiratis were killed and another was severely injured in a car accident after their vehicle veered off the road on Monday afternoon.
The 17-year-old driver of the vehicle, who did not possess a driving licence, and his passengers, aged 16 and 19, were flung out of the car after the car veered off.
First Lieutenant Ibrahim Saif Al Mazroui, director of Traffic and Patrol Branch at Digdaga police station, said the operations room received news about the accident on Azan Road at about 4.30 pm.
Police found the driver and passengers outside the car when they reached the scene of the accident.
One of the passengers was already dead but the other passenger, aged 16, was found to be badly injured and rushed to hospital. The driver died of his injuries at the hospital, Mr Al Mazroui said.
Police urged motorists to obey traffic rules and drive cautiously. Mr Al Mazroui said that parents should make sure that their children do not get behind the wheels of a car without possessing a driving licence.
