ABU DHABI // Rashid Al Qubaisi has been honoured by Abu Dhabi Police for coming first in the Spartan Race in Bahrain earlier this month.
Mr Al Qubaisi, athletics coach for the police and a former member of the UAE’s athletics team, was presented with an award by Colonel Rashid Al Shamsi, head of the Force 7 Department.
The ceremony was attended by Lieutenant Colonel Ali Al Hassani, head of the Field Training Section, Major Salem Al Khaili, head of the Support Services Section, Major Mubarak Al Ameri, head of the Force 7 Section in the Western region, and other officers.
Rashid Al Qubaisi was the first Arab to qualify for the first edition of the Spartan Race, one of the most difficult endurance races, held in Lake Tahoe, California, where he finished in 20th place.

Ingredients
1 tbsp Spirulina powder
1 banana
1 cup unsweetened coconut milk (full fat preferable)
1 tbsp fresh turmeric or turmeric powder
½ cup fresh spinach leaves
½ cup vegan broth
2 crushed ice cubes (optional)
Method
Blend all the ingredients together on high in a high-speed blender until smooth and creamy.
