Emirati found dead in car ‘killed by wife’
ABU DHABI // Ras Al Khaimah police claim they have solved the mystery of a dead Emirati who was found tied up in his car in Ham Valley in Daftah.
Preliminary inspection of the body and the location spurred suspicions about criminal activity because the feet of the deceased were tied together.
The body was referred to the coroner to study the injuries found on the body and to determine the cause of death.
The crime-scene team, experts from the forensic laboratory and fingerprint technicians processed the scene.
The coroner’s report said the deceased had sustained several injuries because the car plungedinto the valley. The deceased suffered a broken nose, two spinal fractures, several bruises, and injuries to his head and other parts of the body.
The 54-year-old was found to be allegedly killed by his wife and two accomplices. The widow, R A H, an Emirati, and her two accomplices, H A S, an Emirati, and A Z, an Asian driver of the father of H A S.
Police said the wife confessed to planning the murder and killing her husband with the help of her accomplices because of their marital disputes.
She said she had tried to kill her husband more than once without success.
So she decided to recruit her Emirati accomplice to kill her husband and dispose of his body for Dh100,000.
On his part, the Emirati accomplice recruited his father’s driver for Dh10,000, which would be paid by the victim’s wife.
On the day of the alleged murder, the victim’s wife put sleeping pills – that her Emirati accomplice had brought her – in her husband’s food and drink to sedate him and render him incapable of resistance, said police.
They said that she put her children in their rooms, closed all the windows and curtains and switched off all the lights.
She then allowed her accomplices to enter the house through a side door and led them to her husband’s room where he was sleeping.
They proceeded to immobilise and gag him, policew said. She gave her husband an insulin shot and her Emirati accomplice gave him another. That was when he stopped moving completely said the police.
They drove the victim in his car to Ham Valley in Daftah and pushed the car over a cliff. It landed on rocks, causing the victim’s neck to break, killing him instantly.
