The UAE and United States have conducted joint military exercises.

Video from the UAE Ministry of Defence shows personnel from both forces taking part in manoeuvres.

The footage shows troops advancing in the desert, with the deployment of snipers and mortars.

It also shows simulated battle scenarios in built-up environments, with the last portion of the footage showing an emergency evacuation using a Bell Boeing V-22 Osprey military aircraft.

The Osprey is a tiltrotor – an aircraft that generates lift through rotating vertically the rotor units mounted on its wings, providing vertical takeoff and landing capability.

The exercises aim to raise combat readiness.

Both forces also practised co-ordinating air support operations.

Islamophobia definition

A widely accepted definition was made by the All Party Parliamentary Group on British Muslims in 2019: “Islamophobia is rooted in racism and is a type of racism that targets expressions of Muslimness or perceived Muslimness.” It further defines it as “inciting hatred or violence against Muslims”.
