DUBAI // Schools will return from summer break on the second Sunday of September, the federal ministry has announced.
The Ministry of Education has said the 2013-2014 calendar year will begin on September 1 for teachers and staff and September 8 for pupils of all grades.
In the first briefing session for the press yesterday, the Minister of Education Humaid Mohammed Al Qutami discussed the authority's projects and objectives for the coming years.
A specialised teacher training facility will be set up as part of the education ministry's effort to improve professional development.
The final exams for state school pupils will begin on June 9.
The time allotted for the final term exams for Grade 12 pupils in the scientific and literary fields has been extended to 110 minutes from the 90 minutes allowed earlier.
