E-security a priority for Dubai schools

Assessors have been scheduled to visit and inspect schools this year.

DUBAI // The school control department at Dubai’s Knowledge and Human Development Authority listed e-security as a new criterion for the assessment and evaluation of private schools. The director, Fatima Bilrahif, said assessors were scheduled to visit and inspect schools this school year and will investigate ways to protect schools from intentional harm and likely hazards related to the use of internet and social media within schools.

She said the assessors would focus on evaluating the quality of the knowledge and awareness among staff and pupils of child protection measures and procedures. They would look into the student protection procedures in each school as well as the school’s implementation of systems that guarantee the students’ health and safety.
