Dubai Police have succeeded in preventing items valued at Dh58 million from being stolen in the past two and a half years, while solving 3,990 cases in the same period.
Major General Expert Khalil Ibrahim Al Mansouri, Assistant of the Chief Commander of Dubai Police for Criminal Investigation Affairs, explained that officers prevented the theft of items worth Dh9 million since the beginning of the year in criminal 901 cases.
Police prevented the theft of goods valued at Dh28 million throughout 2014 in 1,576 cases and Dh21 million in 2013 in 1,513 cases.
He said the cases ranged from embezzlement to fraud, extortion and impersonating a third party, theft of telephone services or unlawful usage thereof, phishing for the purpose of fraud as well as other crimes.
