Dubai police officer's strong arm of the law as he pushes broken down car along busy motorway

Waleed Abdullah praised for 'serving the community' by force chief

A Dubai Police officer has been praised for pushing a broken down vehicle along a motorway to ensure the stationary car did not cause a crash.

Officer Waleed Abdullah, from the force's traffic department, hopped off his motorbike and shoved the vehicle down the outside lane and into a siding.

Dash cam and aerial footage released by police captured the officer's efforts to ensure the halted vehicle didn't cause an accident.

He is pictured in his helmet and looking around him as he jogs with the vehicle.

Major General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri said Officer Abdullah is an exemplary officer that put his "life his danger" to serve his community.

He said the officer would be promoted in rank.
