DUBAI // A new drug awareness programme has been launched by Dubai police.
Col Eid Mohammed Thani Hareb, director of the Anti-Narcotics Department, said the new campaign allows the unit to broadcast a lecture to schools and universities online.
“This system will intensify our awareness campaign by broadcasting our messages to more people in the least amount of time using the internet,” he said. “This new program is 100 per cent Emirati-made, from the idea, to the design, to the implementation.”
“The program is now taking place in 10 schools, and will expand to more schools where there can also be a live Q&A session.”
He added that the program will save the force money, which can be used to raise awareness in other ways, adding that Dubai Police plans to launch an app allowing people access to everything pertaining to drug use awareness.
