Islamic Affairs and the Charitable Activities Department in Dubai launched on Sunday its “Mobile Refreshment” project in which four vans will provide outdoor workers in Dubai with water bottles and meals.

The project will be carried out in collaboration with a food company under the supervision of Zakat and Charity Affairs Office in IACAD.

Jumaa Al Falasi, Executive Director of Charitable Work Sector in IACAD, said the organisation’s vision is pioneering charitable work. “Our object is developing and facilitating charitable activities and disseminating the value of compassion among society. In addition, this project supports Dubai Hands Initiation.”

The project hopes to help more than 700,000 outdoor workers, providing them with about 4,000 meals every day, and will run until November 30.
