DUBAI // Three Nigerians accused of assaulting a compatriot and knocking out nine of his teeth were cleared by Dubai Criminal Court.
On May 11 this year one of the men contacted the 44-year-old victim and asked to meet with him urgently.
“I left work in Sharjah and met with them in Dubai,” he said. When he arrived in Naif, one of the men, a 24-year-old, allegedly dragged him out of the cab and assaulted him. “I was injured and my teeth fell [out],” the victim said.
An ambulance took him to Al Baraha hospital where he was treated before going to a police station to report the assault.
Court records did not mention the reason for the alleged attack.
The three defendants, aged between 24 and 31, denied physically assaulting the victim and told the judge he had dropped the charges against them.
The court acquitted all three.
