DUBAI // A drunk man who kissed a three-year-old boy on the lips while the child was at Jumeirah Beach with his nanny has been sent to jail.
Filipina R S said she was at the beach on April 1 with the boy, when M W, a 49-year-old Sri Lankan, approached her.
“He reeked of alcohol. He told the little boy to come and he kissed him on the mouth for three seconds,” the 40-year-old nanny said.
She was outraged and asked M W, who is unemployed, why he had kissed the boy, whose nationality was not disclosed.
“He told me that it was not my business, then called me a f****** Filipino,” she said, adding that the kiss was not normal so she reported him to police. “The man sucked on the boy’s lips.”
A J, a 48-year-old Filipina, was at the beach with R S. She said: “While the boy was playing on the beach, the defendant knelt down and kissed the boy, and gave him a rose. Then he swore at R S.”
Emirati policeman A A, 30, told prosecutors that he had arrested the drunk man.
“He admitted to kissing the boy and told us that the kiss was innocent, and that no ill will was intended,” the officer said.
At Dubai Criminal Court M W denied molesting the child but admitted that he was too drunk to remember what had happened. On Thursday he was jailed for three months, to be followed by deportation.
