DUBAI // A drunk worker has been sentenced to three months in jail for molesting a female shopper in Deira City Centre mall.
Dubai Criminal Court convicted 27-year-old M Q, from India, with sexual assault and with consuming alcohol without a licence.
He was fined Dh2,000 for the drinking charge.
Filipina M B, 35, said she and M Q were waiting for a lift at the shopping centre on May 27 last year. “When the lift’s door opened I passed him but felt he touched my behind with his hand,” said the woman who screamed at M Q.
“He he was trying to close the elevator’s door, but the security came and I told him what happened,” she added.
In court last June, M Q denied molesting M B, but confessed to consuming alcohol without a license.
He will be deported after serving his jail term.
