Drunk Dubai salesman lost a finger during disturbance, court told

DUBAI // A drunk salesman lost a finger when he hit a hotel’s glass door because he could not see it, Dubai Court of Misdemeanours heard.

Sri Lankan BP, 24, confessed to a charge of consuming alcohol without a licence to police and in court.

In the early hours of November 11 he was arrested in Al Barsha 1 after being reported for breaking the door with his hands and causing a disturbance.

He was charged with consuming alcohol and damaging property.

“I did wrong breaking the glass,” he told policemen.

Forensic reports said his blood sample contained 141mg/dl of alcohol. The damaging property charge was dismissed when the hotel waived its rights.

The salesman was fined Dh1,200 by the court.
