A drug smuggler was caught out by customs officials in Dubai in possession of more than 2 kilograms of cocaine stashed inside dozens of condoms, a court heard.
The man, 49, from Peru, was making a stop off at Dubai International Airport on his way to Egypt when the discovery was made on February 10.
Inspectors found 80 condoms filled with the drug during a search and the man was arrested.
Forensic experts at Dubai Police confirmed the condoms contained 2.3 kilograms of cocaine.
The accused denied a charge of smuggling drugs in order to distribute when he appeared before Dubai Criminal Court on Monday.
The case was adjourned until April 22.

Safety 'top priority' for rival hyperloop company
The chief operating officer of Hyperloop Transportation Technologies, Andres de Leon, said his company's hyperloop technology is “ready” and safe.
