ABU DHABI // Syrian refugees dealing with harsh winter conditions will be receiving much needed assistance from a UAE-based charitable organisation to help them cope with the cold.
The Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation announced it will be providing the urgently needed aid, after a directive issued by President Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed and Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces.
As part of the initiative, Dh6 million worth of aid will be delivered to Syrian refugees in Lebanon affected by the cold weather that is currently hitting the region.
The refugees will receive blankets, clothing, and food, which will be distributed in coordination with the UAE Embassy in Lebanon.
“This aid comes within the framework of the UAE’s solidarity with the Syrian people, providing aid to help them face the extreme cold weather,” reported the news agency, Wam.
