Charity workers are helping to pack and distribute 12,000 free iftar meals for labourers during Ramadan.
The project, costing Dh160,000, is being coordinated by Volunteer in Dubai. "We're extremely grateful for all the help," said Lola Lopez, the charity's founder.
One of the largest contributors is the Dubai-based website, propertyfinder.ae. The company has paid Dh60,000 to pack about 4,000 meals over the course of the month. "We really wanted to organise something that was true to the spirit of Ramadan," said Renan Bourdeau, the managing director.
