A free Umrah trip is being arranged for 87 underprivileged Muslims by the Dar Al Ber Society and philanthropists.

The Lifetime Umrah scheme is to be run by the Zakat and Seasonal Projects Department in collaboration with the Heaven’s Gates live radio programme.

Only those who have not performed Haj or Umrah before are eligible for the tour.

Last year, 214 people participated.

Imran Mohammed Abdullah, board member and head of culture and studies, said a number of lectures were held to develop participants’ awareness about Umrah.
