DUBAI // A woman caught half-naked with a police source in a hotel room has denied working as a prostitute, Dubai Criminal Court heard today.
Prosecutors charged SP, a 36-year-old Indian, with working in prostitution, absconding from her sponsor and with overstaying her visa.
She denied prostitution but confessed to the other charges.
Records show that police received a tip-off about the woman's business and arranged with her through an undercover police source who had a marked Dh500 note to meet at the Everest Hotel Apartments in Sharjah on December 24 last year.
When officers arrived she was only wearing a shirt and had the Dh500 in her possession.
She laughed when told about the marked note.
A verdict is expected on April 21.
