A group of runaways who were hiding in an abandoned farm and working illegally were caught when one of them called police to say the others had kidnapped her.

Sharjah Police were alerted to the group after one of the two women called its operations room asking for help as she was being held against her will by the other woman and two men.

“A police team was formed to investigate the matter and determine the woman’s location. They found the woman in a farm in Al Madam area,” said Lt Colonel Mohammed Al Tunaiji.

“Police raided the farm and arrested the four runaways. Among the people arrested were two Asian women who were working as maids illegally and getting paid per hour.”

Upon questioning, the woman who called police said she had a fight with the two men over money and that prompted her to call police and claim to be kidnapped, according to police.

The four runaways have all been referred to prosecutors.
