Man who forged salary certificate to face charges in Dubai court

An unemployed man who forged a salary certificate with an Islamic Affairs Department stamp will faces charges of forgery and illegally obtaining a credit card.

DUBAI // An unemployed man who forged a salary certificate with an Islamic Affairs Department stamp will faces charges of forgery and illegally obtaining a credit card.

The 38-year-old Tunisian SA did not appear at the Dubai Criminal Court this morning but prosecutors said he used the stamp to forge a salary certificate under a different name then submitted it to HTSBC bank.

After obtaining the card in May 2009 he drained it of its credit.

Prosecutors said that he confessed during interrogations.

The next hearing will be on September 5 to summon the defendant.
