Fake cop kidnapped men and ordered them to kiss woman's feet, court hears

Defendant said to have bundled men into his car after claiming to be a criminal investigator

A salesman posed as a police officer before kidnapping two men and forcing them to kiss the feet of a woman, a court heard.

The Pakistani, 27, called the two Indian victims, aged 62 and 29, and arranged to meet with them at Al Ittihad metro station, in Dubai, after claiming he was a criminal investigations officer with Sharjah Police, Dubai Criminal Court heard.

But when the two men turned up, the accused is said to have assaulted them both and forced them into his car then driven them to Business Bay.

The incident is alleged to have taken place on August 5 of this year.

“When we met, he assaulted me then forced me into his car then waited for a while until my countryman arrived,” said the victim, 62.

The defendant is then said to have ordered both them to get out of the car and kiss the feet of a waiting woman as a form of apology.

“He told us to get out of the car then ordered both of us to kneel and kiss the woman’s feet in apology,” said the younger victim.

It was not stated in court records if there was a prior relationship between the alleged victims and the woman, whose age and nationality were not disclosed, or if there was a reason for the apology being demanded.

At court, the accused denied a kidnap charge, telling judges he had called the men and met with them, but did not carry out any crime.

The case was adjourned until November 12.
