A disgruntled worker threatened to post intimate footage of his employer's son online in an act of revenge, a court heard.
The accused Pakistani employee, 32, is said to have discovered a series of private recordings on the mobile phone of the man during a visit to his home.
He had been asked to collect the device on behalf of the man's mother, who he worked for.
Dubai Criminal Court was told he made copies of the clips before sending them to the Emirati woman, 53, on February 26, with a warning that he would share them on social media.
The woman informed her husband, who alerted police.
“I have some clips for you. Get in touch with me or I will post these clips on YouTube, Twitter and on Instagram. I will also send them to your husband,” the accused’s message read.
When questioned by police, the man said he had made the threats due to his dissatisfaction with his employment.
“I copied the clips and kept hold of them on my phone. I then threatened to post them online because I was very upset from my work and wanted revenge,” the man told police, according to court records.
But the accused denied charges of issuing threats and wrongful use of telecoms at court on Sunday.
The case was adjourned until September 18, when a verdict is due to be passed.
