DUBAI // A young British engineer who vomited in a police car after being found lying drunk in the middle of a street was yesterday fined Dh2,000.
The Misdemeanours Court heard that JJ, 24, drank six large glasses of vodka at the VIP nightclub in Jebel Ali on February 27 before leaving at about 3am and passing out on the street in Tecom.
Two hours later members of the public reported him to police. When officers arrived and put him in the patrol car he vomited over the back seat.
The engineer, employed by a projects-development consultancy, admitted he did not have an alcohol licence, but said he could not remember vomiting in the patrol car.
In court he confessed to a charge of illegally consuming alcohol.
