DUBAI // A cleaner molested an 11-year-old boy on several occasions at a swimming pool, a court has been told.

The last time the Indian molested the Jordanian boy was on July 14 this year at the pool in Barsha Heights, the Dubai Criminal Court heard.

The child’s father, 42, said he learnt of the sexual assaults that day, when his wife called him and asked him to come home immediately.

“When I arrived home my wife told me that the man who cleans the building had been sexually abusing our son,” he said.

He said the boy told him he was molested when he went to the pool with his cousin, and that the same thing had happened two or three times before.

“He said the cleaner approached him and ordered him to sit on a chair, at which point his cousin ran away, and then he was molested.”

In court, the defendant denied a charge of sexual assault.

A verdict is expected on December 6.
