David Cameron has thanked the UAE for its initiative to host the We Protect Children Online global summit next year.
The British prime minister made the remarks on the final day of this year’s three-day summit on Thursday, in London, with 60 countries in attendance.
Mr Cameron said the goal of the summit was to create a new unit to protect children from sexual abuse and to track down online child abusers.
A delegation from the Ministry of the Interior headed by Maj Gen Nasser Lakhrebani Al Nuaimi, secretary general of the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister, Chairman of the Higher Committee for Child Protection attended the summit.
Maj Al Nuaimi said that the child protection summit was an opportunity for governments, law enforcement agencies and civic organisations to meet and discuss joint action and build stronger international cooperation to track online paedophiles and remove child abuse images from the internet.
