The body of a man who drowned off Al Khan Beach at the weekend has been recovered.
The Pakistani victim was swept out to sea on Saturday while swimming.
Police and the coastguard formed a task force using boats and helicopters and searched for 24 hours to recover the body, according to Capt Rashid bin Sandal, director general of the Ambulance and Rescue Unit at Sharjah Police.
The body has been taken to a police forensic laboratory for a post-mortem.
If investigators rule out criminal intent, the remains will be released to the victim's relatives for burial.
In a second incident, an Arab woman with an American passport fell from the 37th floor of a tower in Al Mamzar area of Sharjah yesterday.
Police said they were still investigating to determine whether the incident was suicide, an accident or a murder.

Countdown to Zero exhibition will show how disease can be beaten
Countdown to Zero: Defeating Disease, an international multimedia exhibition created by the American Museum of National History in collaboration with The Carter Center, will open in Abu Dhabi a month before Reaching the Last Mile.
Opening on October 15 and running until November 15, the free exhibition opens at The Galleria mall on Al Maryah Island, and has already been seen at the Jimmy Carter Presidential Library and Museum in Atlanta, the American Museum of Natural History in New York, and the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine.

How the bonus system works
The two riders are among several riders in the UAE to receive the top payment of £10,000 under the Thank You Fund of £16 million (Dh80m), which was announced in conjunction with Deliveroo's £8 billion (Dh40bn) stock market listing earlier this year.
The £10,000 (Dh50,000) payment is made to those riders who have completed the highest number of orders in each market.
There are also riders who will receive payments of £1,000 (Dh5,000) and £500 (Dh2,500).
All riders who have worked with Deliveroo for at least one year and completed 2,000 orders will receive £200 (Dh1,000), the company said when it announced the scheme.
