DUBAI // A 40-day-old baby boy has been strangled and then buried in the sand on Al Mamzar beach.
An Asian man reported discovering the baby on the beach and a team from Dubai Police retrieved his body, which was wrapped in white cloth and had Asian features.
Preliminary forensic examinations revealed that the baby had been buried 48 hours earlier.
A Dubai Police source said the boy died of strangulation and he may have been be born illegitimately.
DNA test results have yet to yield more evidence.
