Three of the Arab world's brightest musical talents are joining forces for a special, one-night Eid Al Fitr fest concert at du Forum on Abu Dhabi's Yas Island on August 10. The star-studded concert is a part of the emirate's 52-day Summer Fest Abu Dhabi celebrations.
Singing sensations include Lebanese singing star, Yara, legendary Saudi Arabian, Rabeh Saqer and UAE superstar, Hussain Al Jassmi, a much-loved around the Arab world and a popular judge on X Factor Arabia.
"This year's Summer Fest is our longest seasonal extravaganza to date and we wanted something special to usher in Eid Al Fitr," said Sultan Al Muhairi, manager, SummerFest Abu Dhabi.

Sukuk explained
Sukuk are Sharia-compliant financial certificates issued by governments, corporates and other entities. While as an asset class they resemble conventional bonds, there are some significant differences. As interest is prohibited under Sharia, sukuk must contain an underlying transaction, for example a leaseback agreement, and the income that is paid to investors is generated by the underlying asset. Investors must also be prepared to share in both the profits and losses of an enterprise. Nevertheless, sukuk are similar to conventional bonds in that they provide regular payments, and are considered less risky than equities. Most investors would not buy sukuk directly due to high minimum subscriptions, but invest via funds.

- Cecelia Crocker was on board Northwest Airlines Flight 255 in 1987 when it crashed in Detroit, killing 154 people, including her parents and brother. The plane had hit a light pole on take off
- George Lamson Jr, from Minnesota, was on a Galaxy Airlines flight that crashed in Reno in 1985, killing 68 people. His entire seat was launched out of the plane
- Bahia Bakari, then 12, survived when a Yemenia Airways flight crashed near the Comoros in 2009, killing 152. She was found clinging to wreckage after floating in the ocean for 13 hours.
- Jim Polehinke was the co-pilot and sole survivor of a 2006 Comair flight that crashed in Lexington, Kentucky, killing 49.
