Almost 2,000 disabled people trained for employment

Almost 2,000 disabled people received training to help them find work between 2002 and this year.

The Centre for the Rehabilitation and Recruitment of the Disabled at the Ministry of Interior announced at the final Ramadan majlis by the General Command of Ajman Police held on Monday that it welcomed 1,879 disabled people between 2002 and 2015, of which 1,464 were men and 415 were women.

The General Command of Abu Dhabi Police ranked first among entities that hired disabled individuals by recruiting 131 in addition to 111 at the Ministry of Interior and 94 at the General Command of the Armed Forces, while 100 people were recruited in the public sector and 45 in the private sector.

Thirty-six people who graduated from the centre are still awaiting employment after completing their qualification and training.
