AL AIN // Al Ain Municipality has started a pilot project on air-conditioned, automated public toilets.
The municipality said on Sunday that it will introduce the toilets free of charge at five locations. Three will be in the market area, and two in Muwaiji’s valley garden area and Sarooj region.
The services will be free but eventually a fee of up to Dh2 will be introduced.
The toilets automatically self-clean in less than a minute. They are designed to serve men, women, children and people with special needs.
They also have screens instructing users in both English and Arabic.
