ABU DHABI // An Air Arabia flight from Kuwait to Sharjah was diverted to an airport in Dubai following instructions from air-traffic control due to an “unruly passenger onboard”, a spokesperson for the airline said.
The flight landed safely and the authorities are currently investigating the matter, Air Arabia said.
Flight G9128 landed at Al Minhad Airbase where it was boarded by authorities after “a warning by a passenger that the plane will explode”, the state news agency, Wam, reported earlier.
Authorities took precautionary measures upon the crew’s request.
“The authorities took the appropriate standard procedures to deal with the situation,” Wam said.
