The Abu Dhabi Judicial Department have responded to the article "Abu Dhabi courts consider marriage in lieu of punishment" published on December 6, concerning the possibility of courts dropping charges in cases of adultery if the couple wish to marry.
The statement said the courts are an executive entity and do not have the authority to modify legislation.
