72 violations issued to Dubai veterinary centres in 2014

DUBAI // Authorities recorded 72 violations during inspections to more than 2,800 veterinary clinics in the emirate last year.

Hashim Al Awadhi, head of veterinary services at Dubai Municipality, said the campaign was carried out to monitor adherence to health criteria in Dubai, reported Al Ittihad, the Arabic-language sister paper of The National.

Criteria for veterinary activity cover the location, building, safety requirements for keeping animals, medicines and veterinary goods. Also covered are registers, documentation and certificates.

The violations amounted to fines worth Dh140,000.
