Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid praises success of World Government Summit

Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, Vice President and Ruler of Dubai, has hailed the enormous success of the World Government Summit.

The two-day event at Expo 2020 Dubai ended on Wednesday, a day before the world's fair comes to a close.

The summit drew leaders from around the world and important topics from food security to energy supply were taken up for discussion.

Sheikh Mohammed also praised the closing speech by Sheikh Saif bin Zayed, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior.

"He [Sheikh Said] played a great role behind the scenes in supporting the success of the Expo and supporting the success of the summit," said Sheikh Mohammed on Wednesday on social media.

"The summit will move to new heights next year."

In his speech, Sheikh Saif said the UAE has been resilient in the face of the Covid-19 pandemic and recent terror attacks.

Next year's World Government Summit meanwhile, is expected to be held on February 13 to 14.
