An 8-year-old boy who went missing from his home in Sharjah last week has been found dead in a neighbour’s car.
His family, from India, reported the child missing on the afternoon of June 27.
Police found his body that day, inside a car parked next to his home in Al Nasseriya.
“Initial investigations show that the boy went inside the car, which was left unlocked, to play but then failed to unlock it,” a statement from police said.
“No criminal suspicion is found as per the criminal laboratory. The boy died due to high temperatures and lack of ventilation inside the car,” Sharjah Police said.
The case was referred to the public prosecution for further investigation.
Sharjah Police offered their condolences to the boy’s family.
They urged parents to monitor their children and take precautions to prevent such accidents occurring.

What is type-1 diabetes

Checks continue
A High Court judge issued an interim order on Friday suspending a decision by Agriculture Minister Edwin Poots to direct a stop to Brexit agri-food checks at Northern Ireland ports.
Mr Justice Colton said he was making the temporary direction until a judicial review of the minister's unilateral action this week to order a halt to port checks that are required under the Northern Ireland Protocol.
Civil servants have yet to implement the instruction, pending legal clarity on their obligations, and checks are continuing.
