A new drive-through centre offering Covid-19 services has opened in Al Manhal, Abu Dhabi.

The four-lane centre offers inoculations, PCR swabs and laser tests.

It has the capacity to handle 100 vaccinations and 600 nose swabs and laser tests per day.

The centre is open between 8am and 8pm from Saturday to Thursday and from 10am to 8pm on Fridays.

Abu Dhabi Health Services Company (Seha) built the new centre using shipping containers, in the same style as the centre recently opened in Al Sarouj.

Seha said the containers offer durability, provide a high level of heat and cold resistance and are easy to move, reuse, and maintain.

There are now six drive-through screening centres managed by Seha in Abu Dhabi.

The others are in Al Madina, Zayed Sports City, Al Bahia, Al Shamkha and Al Wathba. Appointments should be booked via the Seha app.

About 300,000 PCR tests are taken and analysed each day in the UAE, one of the highest rates in the world.

The cost of the tests is capped at Dh150 at government-run hospitals in Dubai and Dh65 in Abu Dhabi.

Seha offers free tests at its national screening centres to those showing symptoms, Emiratis, residents aged over 50 and those suffering from chronic diseases, pregnant women and people with disabilities.
